Greetings! As of late, we have been having a mild shortage of qualified GMs that can
A GM - (Game Moderator) - is a role that directly interacts with the server’s RP atmosphere, environment, and storyline arcs. This is arguably one of the most important staff positions in Wizry due to the significant responsibility and power invested into a GM, with mistakes having the capacity to cause severe chaos and instability. With that being said
RP (CRP/Passive RP)
The very first condition we’d look for within a GM candidate is that they’re intimately familiar and well-gauged in the English language, being fluent and being able to write properly with adequate grammar. This falls under RP experience as well with Combat RP and Passive RP knowledge. While by means do we expect you to be a CRP God, we do anticipate that you are at least able to hold your own reliably and confidently against a group of players within the position of GM. This also goes under RP experience that you intimately know the rules, boundaries of PJ’s lore, and can independently make your own decisions based on a multitude of these factors without consequence. This also goes with Passive RP where you can conduct events outside of combat with sophisticated action that’d be pleasing to player experiences.
Storytelling - Lore Development
Are you an excellent storyteller or someone who’s well-versed in what ‘lore’ even means? This factor is important due to the amount of organization and record-keeping required to sustain consistency with the RPs that occur on a daily basis. We require our candidates to at least be able to write confidently - and often independently - their own event arcs that go in line with reason and also a well-developed antagonist, morals, even strategy. A basic monster attacking CHB wouldn’t keep you on the team for long, so be sure to know how to write a decent story first and foremost before applying that to events where the story becomes a live-action.
Are you a veteran on Wizry? Chances are, we’d grant more of an eye towards you than an applicant who likely joined a week ago. Veteran roleplayers know the style of event-managing necessary, and we hope that some are willing to join or even try for the opportunity. You need to know the lore of Percy Jackson first and foremost, along with the concepts of how serious and how much goes into events as a whole, thus requiring you to also have been able to go to at least ten events in the past three months. If you know how things roll around here with custom items, Norse applications, then you know what to do.
Are you able to keep your cool when a dozen players are growing frustrated? Are you able to calmly reach a conclusion between two players without fear of reprimand from a mere sub-helper? More importantly, can you be trusted with the responsibility of the powers given to you through your rank? This point of criteria is important and just as significant as the others because GMs are expected to present themselves as advanced roleplayers within their own hosted events, and be able to handle constructive criticism well. Frequently,
Why would I want to be a GM? What do I get out of it?
Being a GM gives you a tremendous amount of workload, but overall - It is satisfying for several reasons. It allows you to make an impact on the roleplay around you once you’re trusted with your powers without
These are the primary conditions we are looking for, good luck with your applications! Feel free to send Will and I any questions.
